Flat Perforated Strainers
(Series FP / FFP)
Flat Perforated (FP) and Flat Face Perforated (FFP) strainers are the simplest to fabricate and consequently, are the least expensive of all strainers. The penalty, however, is that they clog rapidly and have relatively high pressure drop losses, due to an open area less than 50% of the pipe flow area. Flat strainers should only be used where: 1) Lowest initial cost is mandatory, or 2) where the piping can only be separated enough to insert this type of strainer. |
Standard Material: 12 ga. perforated plate
5/16" dia. holes on 7/16" centers (46% open area, 6 holes/sq. in.)
